FAQ

Q: Do you take commissions?

A: I do not take commissions at the moment, but I have plans to do so in the not-too-distant future. Additionally, I also plan to sell products such as t-shirts and prints.

Q: What is your preferred medium?

A: I mainly work with three different mediums in my illustrations: pen and ink, watercolors, and collage. For my animations, I use traditional techniques such as frame-by-frame and claymation, but I also use Adobe After Effects to make animations involving collage elements as well as to combine different techniques.

Q: I’m also an artist. Do you have any advice?

A: As per the ancient Chinese proverb, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Start taking that single step, even if you haven’t figured out all the details, and put your work out there so we all can see it. I can almost guarantee that life will unfold in front of you if you make the first move.

And another thing! A higher education is vitally important if you plan to make a stable living. While you are putting yourself out there, be sure you pursue a degree in applied art such as graphic design. That way, companies will be more willing to hire you for regular work while you work on your art business.

Q: Who are your main influences?

I have way too many to list, but Jack Stauber, Bill Plympton, John R. Neill, Robert Crumb, and Jan Švankmajer are a few that come to mind.
