A Few Jack Stauber Animations

It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged about one of my favorite YouTube animators, Jack Stauber. In another article, I explored his unique aesthetic, but what I wanted to do here is to look at a few specific animations of his that I personally find the most entertaining, clever, and visually appealing.

1.) Mirror Mirror - This animation makes heavy use of his cursed claymation technique, as well as some 3D elements, but what I especially like about it is the soundtrack, which I find very catchy.

2.) Cheeseburger Family - His use of color is bright and brilliant in this animation, but better yet is the wonderfully quirky subject matter. A big happy family of cheeseburgers living in a house made of what appears to be a fast food to-go bag. It doesn’t get much crazier than this… or does it?

3.) It’s Benny Worm - One can easily scratch his or her head when watching this. How did he come up with this seemingly random idea? But it just goes to show that Jack Stauber is full of surprises, and you never quite know what he’s going to do next.

4.) At the Store - She misses you and a pair of shoes, among other things, but don’t cry, because she’s at the store. That seems to be the gist of this animation, but it still doesn’t make any sense. Yet, we wouldn’t have it any other way! The unpredictability and randomness of Stauber’s animations is precisely what we like about them.

5.) Good Luck Chasing Your Mind - If you try hard enough to chase your brain, which is running from you at a pace you can barely keep up with, you might start seeing things. Other people are rooting for you, so do your best. I guess that’s it? But it’s still another one of his more fun videos, and we can’t help but be amused.

And that’s it for this list. Which animation did you like the best? What others did you like that weren’t on the list? Sound off in the comments!
